Looks like there is no longer love and hip hop in Erica Mena’s life any more. News recently hit the tabloids that the reality star’s relationship with Shad Moss, otherwise known as Bow Wow, ended after only a short period of getting together. And although they hashed out their breakup issues on social media, it was a little unclear as to what was the cause, but Mena came clean as to why the seemingly happy couple quickly crashed and burned.
The breakup may not come as a surprise to most as it was frequently over the Internet that their love wouldn’t last, but even so, the reason behind it may be a little more shocking. “He’s an abuser,” Mena said. As for the abuse she’s endured, she’s not referring to physical, but instead mind games that she most definitely asserts the former 106 & Park host played during their time together.
“I’ve been quiet about it because we were engaged, but obviously he was in his feelings after my Snapchat post…I could have gone public about our breakup a month ago,” she said. “He does this to make headlines. Just leave me alone, I moved on; why are you still in your feelings? He’s literally posting about Joie [his daughter’s mother] to get on my nerves and it’s not working. He’s posting it to fu*k with her head and to try to get a reaction out of me. Listen, I walked away silently.”
Although Mena was frequently seen hashing out her differences on VH1’sLove & Hip Hop with fists and drinks, she revealed that she’s at a different place in her life, a state of peace. “I feel like people have seen me on reality TV having to fight, but at this point in my life, I deserve peace. I’m in a different place now. When it comes to Shad, this is the man I at one point really considered marrying,” she said. “He is the one I decided to say yes to, but once the mask came off, I realized I had made a bad choice…It’s sad, because we had a real friendship and we could have had a good life after the fact that our relationship was over. But at the end of the day, we’ve been separated for some time and I’m ready to move on.”
Judging by the mouth full Moss had to say about Mena’s attention-seeking and revealing their miscarriage to the world, he’ll most definitely have more to say. Mena has since moved on, but she has some advice for her ex-fiance. “He has a lot of demons he needs to deal with. He needs to talk to someone.”

So everyone’s talking about the Umno smartphone; here’s the story of its maker
www.yahoo.com |
KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 12 — If your universe exists on Twitter, Facebook and Whatsapp, you may already be familiar with the Umno smartphone that made its debut this week at the Malay political party’s annual general assembly.
Priced at an auspicious RM888 per unit and available in two colours: black or white, the phone’s specs boasted a 5.5-inch high-definition IPS screen, a 2GB RAM processor, 16GB of internal memory, a 2,500mAh battery that also has dual-SIM card input, a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front-facing camera and runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop.
It’s called the Umno smartphone because it has been customised to show the Umno logo on its boot screen, lock screen and home screen. It also has a back cover with the party logo imprinted.
But you would have known all that by now. What you may not know is that was made by a Malaysian company, Chili Mobile, touted to be the country’s first customisable phone producer.
Malay Mail Online met up with the little-known local cellphone maker’s founder Abdul Rahim Mohamad last night and found out that only 2,000 units of the Umno branded smartphone was produced exclusively for the general assembly. To date, 600 units have been sold.
And here’s the surprise. Abdul Rahim said the phone is not exclusive to Umno. His company simply took advantage of their customisable platform to create a special phone for the country’s largest political party at its annual assembly in an enterprising effort to boost its sales.
“It is Umno’s convention, so I do (sic) it for Umno. If tomorrow is PAS’ convention, I will do it for PAS also.
“I’m not a politician. I am a businessman, so I take the opportunity when I can,” he said when met at his booth located on level three of the Putra World Trade Centre, where the Umno assembly is taking place.
Abdul Rahim said the Umno smartphone has been well-received by delegates there. Some have even asked him if they could customise their phones with their party division and even branch names.
“Our approach is that we can customise your phone for any organisation, clubs, co-operative. Anyone.
“You can request what brand and specifications you require and we will do it for you. You can choose the processor, memory, camera capacity, battery capacity and so on and we will make the phone for you,” he said, adding that customers can even ask for “Pekida, PAS and other logos” if they wished.
The Cyberjaya-based start-up said their smartphones were a partnership with the Malaysian Investment Development Authority and the Science, Technology and Innovation Ministry.
Usually, the phones would be priced at RM2,000, Abdul Rahim said, which would make the Umno phones a steal at RM888.
Malaysia’s Twittersphere hotted up with pictures, questions and remarks about these gadgets yesterday, and appears to still be trending at the time of writing under the hashtag #UMNOsmartphone.
The responses were mixed, though many were largely supportive of the idea of a locally-made customisable smartphone while others poked fun at the possible features the phone might contain, and yet others who were sceptical it would take off.
“Wow #UMNOsmartphone sounds good, free ade nak!!!” tweeted Quinn, adding the emoji for laughing out loud.
“Umno smartphone ada gst calculator. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA,” Twitter user Syinaz97 posted, in a light-hearted gibe at the controversial Goods and Services Tax introduced by the federal government in April.
Twitter user Vicky Tan suggested that the Umno smartphone “is a plot to remove other smartphones in the market!”
Accompanying her post was a cool modified ad promoting the Umno smartphone brandishing the party’s logo in four colours that bore a striking similarity to the new iPhone 6S models.
The tagline? “Umno1Phone6S: Teknologi Menyatukan Melayu”, which translates to “Technology Unifying Malays”.
Nurul Izzah not off the hook yet
KUALA LUMPUR: PKR vice president Nurrul Izzah Anwar is not in the clear yet for having met self styled Sulu Princess Jacel Kiram.
MCA president Datuk Seri Liow Ting Lai said that although the opposition leader had apologised for the meeting, what she had done was unforgivable as it the intrusion into Lahad Datu by the group led by her father had caused the country a lot of pain.
"We are very sad that we are facing terrorist threats in the country and at at the same time, our opposition leader Nurul Izzah has had contact with such a leader there."
"Although she has apologised but that does not excuse her from what she had done, which is unbecoming of an opposition leader."
"This shows the mentality of the opposition, who only go for policital gain instead of considering national security," he said.
The self proclaimed Sulu Sultan Jamalul Kiram III was behind the Lahad Datu intrusion which led to the deaths of Malaysian security personnel in 2013.

Did Umno disclose party finances at general assembly? Dr M says no, treasurer says yes
KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 10 ― Umno elder Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad alleged that the country’s political party departed from custom and left out sharing the details of its financial report with delegates at the general assembly today.
www.yahoo.com.my |
In a news conference at the Islamic Arts Museum here, the former Umno president and prime minister said it was customary for the party treasurer to table a financial report at the annual general assembly.
“But this time, there is no report on the party's financial standing,” Dr Mahathir told reporters after speaking to some 200 Kedah and Kluang Umno members at a function here.
However, Umno treasurer Datuk Seri Ahmad Husni Hanadzlah rubbished the allegation when contacted for verification.
“No need to entertain him lah. I’ve presented it already lah,” he toldMalay Mail Online.
Dr Mahathir has been a fierce critic of Umno president and Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s administration in recent months, demanding the latter resign from office to take responsibility for a number of issues, notably the high debt-pile facing state-owned 1Malaysia Development Berhad and a RM2.6 billion foreign political fund.
The 90-year-old Kedahan who attended the Umno assembly at the Putra World Trade Centre earlier today said he was hoping to hear the details of the party’s finances first-hand, especially on the RM2.6 billion that Najib has publicly admitted was donated directly into his personal bank accounts from several Middle Eastern donors.
Najib is said to have addressed the issue and cited facts and figures during a closed-door presidential briefing with Umno delegates Tuesday, with many later telling reporters they were satisfied with the PM’s explanations.
Public holiday for Kedah if it wins Malaysia Cup final
ALOR STAR: A statewide public holiday awaits Kedah on Sunday if its football team wins the coveted Malaysia Cup final tonight.
Its Menteri Besar, Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir, in a brief statement today, said the decision was made after a discussion with the state executive council, with the consent of the Council of Regency chairman Tan Sri Tunku Sallehuddin Sultan Badlishah.
"Should employers insist that their employees turn up to work tomorrow, they must comply with the Employment Act 1955 in providing double payment of salary and overtime allowances for their employees for the day.
"Employers however are also allowed the replace the public holiday on any other day as subject to the provisions of the relevant laws," said Mukhriz.
